A rather unusual incident in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, saw a car crash straight through the bedroom wall of a building, after the driver reportedly blamed his new, slippery shoes.
Thankfully, no one was harmed in the incident, which could have had far more serious consequences.
The unexpected crash left a gaping hole in the bedroom wall, with damage to the property serving as a stark reminder of just how quickly an ordinary day can take an unexpected turn.
When explaining what had happened, the driver reportedly put the incident down to wearing a new pair of shoes that were particularly slippery.
While new footwear can take some getting used to, it is certainly not every day that a pair of shoes becomes the explanation for a car ending up inside a bedroom wall!
Although the circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear, the incident highlights the importance of ensuring footwear provides a secure grip and allows proper control of a vehicle's pedals.
For Affinity as the Block Manager, the focus will now turn to assessing the damage and arranging repairs.
Fortunately, the most important outcome is that nobody was injured. The damaged wall can be repaired, but it is certainly an incident that those involved are unlikely to forget in a hurry.
And perhaps a lesson for drivers everywhere: make sure your shoes are road-ready before setting off!
