A Property Manager’s Perspective: Comparing Sestriere and Milton Keynes Rentals

Whenever I travel, I can’t help but explore the local property market—it’s part of the job (and, let’s be honest, a bit of an obsession). My current ski trip to Sestriere is no exception. While enjoying the slopes, I am also finding myself comparing rental properties here with those back home in Milton Keynes.
Sestriere, with its Alpine charm, caters to a seasonal market. Winter sees high demand for short-term lets, with prices peaking during ski season. Properties are designed for holidaymakers—think cozy chalets and apartments with breathtaking views. High returns are possible, but success depends on good management and off-season strategies.
Milton Keynes, on the other hand, offers a steady, year-round rental market. With strong transport links and a growing economy, it attracts long-term tenants, from professionals to families. While it lacks mountain scenery, it makes up for it with reliable occupancy rates and lower seasonal fluctuations.
Both markets have their appeal—Sestriere for high seasonal yields, Milton Keynes for stable, long-term income. It’s fascinating how location shapes rental strategies, and as always, I left with ideas for both business and future investments. Because even on holiday, the property market is never far from my mind!
